The lack of homemade pumps.

Argh this is annoying lol, there is a shear lack of homemade pumps on this site. People venture into making quite dangerous things but hardly ever a pump. Is it that people are happy with 160psi out of a floor pump or C02 to achieve high pressures?

After reading the opening comment of this topic and scanning through the next 3 pages... Did anyone stop to think, for a moment, that a homemade pump is not feasible for anything other - than an uber-small capacity reservoir???

Happy with 160psi out of a floor pump? - Try getting half of that pressure into any sprinkler-valved actuated cannon - and see how long it takes you for each fill.

Be more specific with your ideas, as this one cannot apply to your average spudgun.

I would have said the point didn't really need to be said.

But the truth is that a HM hybrid track/shock pump can do the volume of a track pump or the potential pressures of a shock pump - or anywhere in between depending on how much effort you will put in.
It combines the advantages of both, reduces their disadvantages and allows the construction of high pressure pneumatics in much larger sizes - which I helped along in a way with HEAL, my 40 in³ 320 psi 0.80" cal launcher, which is one of the largest launchers that is filled by manual means to those pressures (consistently, not just for once or twice off shots)

They may not be good for chambers into hundreds of cubic inches, but they do allow the construction of low bore/high velocity cannons that can compete against much larger cannons on energy.
