Nice find, though you could get one cheaper on mcmaster.

You could get one even cheaper than the mcmaster and the ebay one at Fastenal for $26 with in-store pickup so you don't have to pay for the shipping.

I agree with pizlo a 3/4" QEV from McMaster is only 20 dollars as opposed to that 24 dollar one

Can someone PLEASE link to the McMaster QEV? I've been hearing about them having them all the time but couldnt find it on the site after extended periods of nothin but searching
What came up under 'quick exhaust valve' definitely was NOT a quick exhaust valve...

It won't let me link, but it's on catalog page 957. A picture labeled "F" is the type you want.
Yeah, we wouldn't want to anger the bees, now would we??

I've seen that, but how is that a QEV? Dont they have 3 ports?
In other words, how would it work on a cannon? Just doesn't look anything like the QEV's I've seen on other cannons...
Or is the 3rd port just not shown
Edit : OK I get it now, just ignore this post

The pilot is on top. You fill through there, and then exhaust it so that the piston moves back. It's kind of a cross between a piston and diaphragm valve, with more flow than a sprinkler.
Here's the wiki entry: http://www.spudfiles.com/spud_wiki/index.php?title=QEV
Edit: I was right. Look at the specs for the valve. It has 3 different categories: input, reservoir (I think, equivalent of chamber), and exhaust. The third port is on the bottom, so you can't see it easily. I thought you might be right in thinking it isn't the right one, and I got really scared, as I ordered one the other day!

Off topic but didnt want to start another thread:
Are there any cheap valves that can selectivly direct flow to 2 sources, ie. one or the other? I was thinking about a double-barreled addon to my break action, but didnt want all the dead space of 2 ball valves.

Here's the catalog number of the McMaster 3/4" QEV...
6646K23
Simply type into McMaster search to order...
The easiest way to direct flow between two sources would be a 2\3 way valve... I forget what they call them, but they look like a Y tee but with a single ball valve that directs flow...
I don't think the dead space would effect firring much would it?

I wish people would stop needing a better signature!

I can't tell you that specifically ('cos I can't remember), but a lot of people (me included) are happy using various varieties at 300 psi or more. I believe the McMaster one would be usable at those pressures.Gramanam wrote:What is the maximum pressure the McMaster QEV can withstand?
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?
