Copper is a horrible piston material. However, in a gun with such low forces involved, a copper piston isn't a problem. In guns with worthwhile power, the piston would start to mushroom from hitting the bumper with a lot of force. Also, I believe I was referring to a piston made from solid copper bar.

Anyhow, good job bigbob. Whenever I want a plinker for inside, I just hook up a pressure washer handle and 6' of .257" stainless tube (with a breach loading mech) to my N2 supply and crank it to 500 psi.

So your saying this gun doesnt have worthwhile power
I would say it does, i spent 10min making it and have not spent a penny on it and i am having a lot of fun with it.

Well ive checked the piston after about 100 shots and cant see any wear at all so i dont see a reason to change it.
thanks though

and i have acheived near semi auto with it by having one person on the pump and another loading and firing.
doing that I can let of about five 80psi shots in 10sec

In your case, the piston housing is a softer material than the piston, so it will be destroyed before the piston is.
