I am planning on using a hockey puck as a piston. I have a few questions first.
1) would a hockey puck weigh to much 5.5 and 6 ounces (156-170 g)?
2) A hockey puck is 1" thick, would it be thick enough?
These are probaly the last of my noob questions, thank you for all who helped me.
couple of piston questions
Yes it wieghs to much. and i don't think it is thick enough. it really depend on your gun design.
This is for a Coax? And lighter is always better I suppose you could bore out the back and add a sealing face to it, but why not just make one of wood, or another light material?

no even close to thick enough
the thickness sould be equal to the length at least.
But a couple hockey pucs screwed together should do the trick

true
so I would just reccomend a better piston material, peanut butter jars fit in 3in pipe(same size as hockey pucks)fill it with expanding foam and you should be good to go.
I got that from this other guy that did that, ill see if I can get a link
