Yes, the Pipe Dream is why I'm working in the combustion world these days. I need the hot gases to break Mach. Were it not for that requirement, I'd just make it a Very Large Air Gun.

IIRC, it's 1/2" wall. Correct in that it's not much, but then, I'm not planning on putting much through it. It's good to 200 psi with a 5:1 margin. Totally adequate for a 2X gun.

Are you finding combustions interesting enough to become a permanent convert? I know (or think anyway) your first love is with pneumatics.

@D_Hall

By the looks you have a vast open space to shoot this thing, that means you have a vast open space between you and the cannon...I think you can go more then a 2x :D

You'd probably need 100' of chamber that size to get DDT :P

I have access to a military gun gun range (and I'm not talking about small arms). Ironically, said range is about 1/2 mile beyond the horizon in the "pipes" picture. So yeah, I have vast open spaces available to me.

LOL. Yeah, but if the gun WORKS, then I'm a dead man if I push it too far. Too, IF the gun works, it may be a lot easier to get funding for something "nicer" if a need is identified. :)

I think you should build a house, and then shoot the 250 pound projectile at it :).

Ultimate damage pic.
I'd pay big money to see it

Mind if you take a pic of the pipe with some other thing for a comparison of size.

@D_Hall just wondered what type of place you work for? If that's too much information, just don't answer. I am expecting a little $$$$ soon myself and would like to maybe start a company(in the air rifle/ spud cannon business).
