You don't need much power. I'd go with the 3/4" QEV and a metal chamber. All-metal = more robust. The last thing you want is the gun to come apart due to mishandling and the powers that be to blame it on "poor worksmanship" and/or "bad design."

I did. I maintain my stance. You're not trying to push high velocities here. 100 fps is probably all you need. Add a relatively massive projectile to the mix.... Granted, I've not had enough time to run the numbers, but my gut feel is that the 3/4" QEV is sufficient.

I do believe he (D Hall) understands how big a t shirt is.

He is talking about the VALVE. ( a qev is a valve)

A 3" barrel could be attached to a smaller valve.

You do understand, (I hope) that your not trying to punch that t shirt through someone?

I agree with D hall... It would be better to use the QEV because you just wanna push out the shirt/hotdog and not beat someone to death with a shirt and or hotdog.... Also, one thing you could do is get one of those co2 things from home depot... they use them for pnuematicaly driving nails... you could prolly figure out how to use one for your purposes. :D

That's what I would do if I were in your position, if you use PVC there are a lot of extra hazards that aren't really necessary (especially since you're using regulated CO2). I would say go with the 3/4" QEV and a galvanized steel chamber.

I have a 3/4" QEV on my tennis ball cannon, and it has plenty of power, enough to launch a tennis ball 150 yards.

EDIT: If you already ordered that 2" sprinkler valve, you can make yourself a cannon with it.
