Back on topic... Since someone mentioned chem aprons. You can also get old billboard signs for free. Nylon reinforced vinyl. You can't ask for much tougher material. I used it in an old diaphragm valve I made a while back.
Look in the phone book for advertising companies, give em a call and tell them you want an old sign. I've done it and they loaded up my trailer. I use them now for tarps and pond liners.

i have never thought of that, i think ill give them a call.

next time i go to visit my sister at C of C i think i'll stop by Charleston Rubber and Gasket.
