fly tying skills=dart making skills

If you know anyone that fly fishes & knows how to tie flies, get them to teach you some basics, you can make some really dood darts, I already knew how to tie flies, but I just got the idea to make darts that way.

I shook up a can of diet root beer (nasty crap) & shot it w/ the small gold/white dart. It exploded & made a weird pop noise

I made all of these in about 5 minutes, they're pretty good, but I can make much better ones.

noice. i made similiar darts using nails and pieces of fabric tied to the back.

Good heavens man, those look wicked! The middle one looks like it might be a little nose heavy but I would still hate to get shot by it...the left one looks a little too light. I like the one on the far right.

Beautiful job though!

Whoa, thats realy strange, I shot a Barq's rootbeer today too and it had about the same riping pattern as yours did. Back on topic those are some amazing darts you have made can't wait for a how to.

Nice darts, they look accurate and powerful, but I love diet soda especially Barqs!

I used to use the tips of shoe laces with needles stuck through them with the tails fanned out, I'd shoot em out of straws, very similar to yours, just seeing these make me want to start making cannons smaller than 2"...

Anyways.... I like the darts. I surprised that nobody, including myself, had thought of this before. Cool. I'm awaiting the how-to.

Btw, anybody like my new sig? I thought it was hilarious. It was just a random ad on gmail. Turns out that it didn't even sell action figures... :lol:
