Please take a note of caution when doing that. When molten lead is poured down a long narrow cylinder quickly it tends to bubble and spatter vigorously. Trust me I learned this the hard way. I have the scars on my hand to prove it. So I would suggest to just keep on doing it the way you did in the video. it is plenty fast and is pretty safe. If you do use the pan only pour a small portion of it into the dowel at a time to avoid spatter.
