im sure that alot of people including me have found that "reliable bike pump" is an oxymoron.

I use a bike pump, it's faster and quieter than my compressor, and it is much more portable.

a shock pump is a special pump designed to pressurize guns that go above 200 psi which would be dangerous for a regular bike pump and really hard to pump

edit: this blows i was higher than you for a glorius minute but then i get the message that says ive received the daily amount of spud bux :cry:

Not really any, except a shock pump has a smaller piston diameter so that you can use it at a higher pressure with less force.

My pump's been very reliable throughout the history of my hobby, and although it's slow, it's portable, and that's a necessity when you want to move out of your backyard/basement. I'll probably build a shockpump soon though.

I have a shock pump and it works pretty well except for large chambers. I also got a 12 volt pump that works pretty well. I had it up to 150 psi on my burst disk cannon.

I'm pretty well set up. Currently have or have access to;

5hp industrial compressor w/80 gallon tank 150psi.

Homemade pump 400psi.

Regulated co2 to 450psi. (unregulated if I want)

Nitrogen, 2000psi still in the bottle (regulated or not)

Next big project is either 3000+psi air, or a regulator for 4500psi N2. 8)
