im sure that alot of people including me have found that "reliable bike pump" is an oxymoron.Mr.Sandman wrote:i personally use my air compressor but there is nothing wrong with using a good old reliable bike pump.

I use a bike pump, it's faster and quieter than my compressor, and it is much more portable.

a shock pump is a special pump designed to pressurize guns that go above 200 psi which would be dangerous for a regular bike pump and really hard to pumpSEAKING9006 wrote:By the way, what's a shock pump?

Not really any, except a shock pump has a smaller piston diameter so that you can use it at a higher pressure with less force.SEAKING9006 wrote:So, what's the mechanical difference?

My pump's been very reliable throughout the history of my hobby, and although it's slow, it's portable, and that's a necessity when you want to move out of your backyard/basement. I'll probably build a shockpump soon though.

I'm pretty well set up. Currently have or have access to;
5hp industrial compressor w/80 gallon tank 150psi.
Homemade pump 400psi.
Regulated co2 to 450psi. (unregulated if I want)
Nitrogen, 2000psi still in the bottle (regulated or not)
Next big project is either 3000+psi air, or a regulator for 4500psi N2. 8)
