What is the largest spudgun you have ever built?

What was the size and length of the barrel?
What was the size length of the chamber?
How much did it weigh?

i had a pneumatic, it had a 4 inch and 60 inch long chamber, it had a piston valve, and a 70 inch long 3 inch barrel.
im guessing that it weighs ~5o pounds.

Well Im in the prosses of building a large two chambered gun each 4in by 72in, and with a burst disk that melts and breakes for a valve. Also with detachible chambers for different sizes.

The reason I ask is that I am starting gathering materials to build my gigantic Pneumatic called the DOBA launcher. (Dead On Balls Accurate)
Here the specs:

3- 4" SCH-80 chambers each 5 feet long (60" and ~60 pounds)
2.5" Burst Disk
20 foot long 2.5" SCH-80 barrel (30 pounds)
300 PSI Hydrogen gas propellent
Custom muzzle break
Active recoil dampering
Barrel supports
Wheeled base

Ammo:
billiard ball (156.25 grams 2.25" diameter)
1 KG ball (1 kg 2.25" diameter)

In the future I might even make a tilt system!

Contact me on AIM if you want the GGDT and RangeCalc file for the cannon.

OMG man thats going to be one exspensive gun. Do you plan on making your own hydrogen gas, cause if not thats going to cost quite a bit.

Yeah it is!

But size it not it's main attribute, speed along with range is.

For example
With a billard ball muzzle velocity will be 1686 ft/s (feet per second)!!

With a 1 KG ball muzzle velocity will be 720 ft/s but will have a maximum range of 5008.
If I simply increased barrel length to 300" the range will be 5357 feet.
if i doubled the barrel length to 40 feet, the range would be 5791 feet.

With an extremely lightweight projectile such as an aerogel muzzle velocity would would actually exceed the hypersonic barrier!!! (mach 5+)

Also, it will most likely be going to the next IPLA meet we have in vegas!

Um you don't need anywhere near that much fps w\ a billard ball to break the sound barrier....

We shot a potato 1200 fps and it broke the sound barrier in Ohio, when it was like 80 F. out and %23 humidity or something

I wish people would stop needing a better signature!

EDIT: at 45 psi, I have gotten 36 seconds of hangtime !!! with that big of chamber,5 psi adds 3-7 seconds of hangtime. Imagine the hangtime with 100 psi !!!! It cost $300-$350 to build .

Is it just me, or is 300 psi too much for a 3 or 4" chamber? My 3" is only rated to 260 psi. Sounds cool, though!

Been thanked: 2 times

It's SCH 80, it can handle significantly more pressure

My biggest gun is actually, pretty wimpy, but I live in the city.
It's got a 28 inch by 4 inch chamber, and a 1.5 by 36 inch barrel.

I do have a hybrid and a burst disk cannon in the works tho... expect them to be quite large. ;)

That was an impressive cannon! Though it was kinda funny how you mounted it on a table.
