welding work

yesterday i did my first welding on my TIG welder, i was just welding scrap together to get the feeling of it and it toom me 5 minutes to get hooked.
today i started to weld aluminium wich was a bit harder but the welds turned out great after a while.

i does not have any pics yet but i will get, so i ask people here to get some pictures of their welders and their work etc.

for people who don't have a welder GET IT! really useful

Yah, welding is great fun. I learned 4 different ways of welding at the school i went to, and had a lot of fun doing it also very useful

TIG is a useful skill spudfarm, I have only done aluminum successfully a few times before.

i have a hell of a lot experience when it comes to the things that involved melting and fuse things together and i think it helped me.

however, it looks so hard but it isn't and it is one of the most addicting things i have done.

i will try to weld some stainless tomorrow, it should be easy since it has a high melting point.

the hard thing about aluminium welding is the slag that stops it from mixing properly so you have to heat so much that it get holes.

Nothing like welding. One of the best skills I have in my opinion. Shame I cant afford a welder though. The prices especially for TIG here are sky high

I have an old old merlin mini stick welder a couple years ago. havent really used it too much cause i had a bunch of wet rod but if finally got some new stuff and man that thing can turn and burn now. it still needs a new electrode but hey it's still does the job.

Keep welding, you only get better with practice.

You will also find that you won't have to source as many fittings to build your own custom cannons.
