The plastic lids from coffee cans and the big ice cream tubs?

Vivit your local plastics supplier and get sheets of HIPS, ABS, PVC, Acrylic, ...?

Where can one find said 4" aluminium couplings? (is it TRSsupplies?)

and as for burst disc ideas... well i can;t see many things working, maybe 2L drinks bottle plastic? (added bonus of the sprite/coke/whatever inside it :D )

I believe D_Hall was referring to actual commercial burst discs. Although I imagine they would be significantly more expensive then something homemade.

You may want to search the Spudtech archives. IIRC DR made a 4" burst disk cannon.

perhaps thin PVC- such as SDR 21???
