The same general cannon c:b guidelines would be in effect with or without a burst disk. A burst disk is going to simply act as a very fast valve.

There's nothing magic about a burst disk that would impart power to a projectile that wasn't already present in the chamber in the first place. It just presents that power to the projectile in a very fast way.

Use GGDT to figure it out for your cannon and ammo combo. There is not magic C:B ratio like everyone is always trying to find, just in general something somewhere i the general vicinity of approximately 1:1 is in the right ball park.

As with any pneumatic, more volume = more power but to a point, use GGDT to help you out. If you want a launcher that doesn't take much effort to pump up and is relatively quiet, a low chamber:barrel ratio (we're talking 1:4) will suit you fine.

If you...

want the gun to be silent: low
have an air compressor: high
have to hand-pump it:low
want a maximum power: high
want good portability: small gun, thus low

It depends if you want to take the gun out for recreational purposes or if you want it to take it to the max for penetration experiments and velocity records.
