I'm working on my first spud gun and have just bought a blowgun and 2
1/4'' hose barbs for connecting the sprinkler valve to the blowgun. My problem is, the barbs are too small for the back of the blowgun. Did i get the wrong type of blowgun or barbs? Or will wrapping the threads with teflon tape be enough to allow for a good seal?[/img]
Blowgun issues?

Find a hose barb with the correct I.D. of your hose and 1/4" male NPT threads on the side. That is the thread size of the blowgun.
Things like this can be avoided by test fitting all the pieces together before you leave the hardware store.

I would have, but Canadian Tire packages everything so you can't "tamper" with itThings like this can be avoided by test fitting all the pieces together before you leave the hardware store.![]()
Any way, Igot new barbs with 1/4" MIP (is MIP the same as NTP?)
but now, it only threads 3/4 in before it locks up. help?
