I don't see why not, replacing the solenoid with a blowgun as on the "normally" configured valves.

Correct. These have been modified for a compact over/under, but the performance leaves a little to be desired.covey12 wrote:so possible, but impractical

The Sprinkler Valve covers this, as well as a few modification techniques for an anti-siphon sprinkler valve.
As has been mentioned, for performance, just get an inline and a couple of elbows. The only true reason to use this type of valve is to make that bend without the elbows.
