Mitcho's new gun! (Push button valve MkII)

Hey guys,

I've been tinkering with the push button valve idea and this is the best I've been able to come up with. I think it's one of the best builds I've done and the most aesthetically pleasing. This push button valve has some serious flow. It actuates my marble piston gun faster than what my 1/2'' ball valve trigger that I used to use on my "whammy" and "BFS" guns not to mention it's really comfortable to hold.

My new pump is nearly complete and I'm pretty damn confident the push button valve could take around 300psi if not more.

Wow Mitch congratulations that thing is beautiful. Your push button valve and trigger system is genius. What pressure have you taken it to? Is the trigger easy to pull?

Thanks a lot Jacob. I've only been able to max the compressor out but the o rings are as solid as my head. I have aluminum tubing behind the o rings so they have no chance of blowing out at high pressures. I'll be getting stuck into the pump tomorrow.

I found my old pop off valve so I'm gonna come up with a pilot valve that uses the same sort of fill and grip but use a sear to hold the pin to the pop-off in place. With no spring, it'll virtually explode open when the trigger is pushed and the sear actuated.

Bahaha, Those Russians really know the "simple but effective" . I plan on taking off that crappy nail and bending and welding a few polished bolts together to add to the look of it. I'll see if I can fit on a nice trigger guard too.

Oh man, that would have been so good to see.. Much envy..

On a better note. There is a hardware shop near me closing down. They have bagged 90 dollars worth of assorted pressure pipe fittings in 1/2, 3/4 and 1'' fittings. The bags came in those sizes.

THEY ARE BEING SOLD FOR $20!

If only I still built pressure pipe guns... dammit... But I got a nice brass check valve and a crap load of brass fittings for 12 bucks. I worked out in my head that it should have cost me $60.

Thanks very much for the kind words. I get those 1/4'' male tee's from my local hardware in the "air tools and compressors" section. Every place on earth should sell them in that section.

The gun pilots out the fill port. When I plug in the compressor, I pull the trigger the valve pushes in and allows the gun to be filled.

The bolt itself has been heavily machined down to give the give flow possible. Surprising what you can do with a drill press, a hacksaw blade and a file
