The idea for this valve came when I used one of these at work...
It's a polyurethane foam gun.
A quick sketch of the basic idea.
In contrast to traditional hammer valves, this valve is pulled to be opened. Similar to BtB's high pressure valve you only need to overcome the force of the spring at any given pressure.
It also acts like a check valve if you decide to pressurize into the release hole.
Today I took the time to build it with the parts I had laying around.
This is just a basic setup that I hooked up directly to the compressor.
View of the internal parts.
The o-ring grooves took a little time because I made them on a poor mans lathe (aka drill press
Further ideas for this valve:
-The valve has a great flow and would make a good pilot.
-Increasing surface of the "sliding" part of the bolt to go semi/auto.
-Building a BBMG.
-I always wanted to build a hardcore 300psi water gun
