Hey guys, this is a proect that I an undergoing that wil actually get built. Im making a fully steel hammer valved rifle in 7mm calibre.

Im going to use seamless normalised stainless steel hydraulic tube as the main chamber spec: BS3602 Part1 CFS360 NBK with 2.64mm walls 1" 1/4 diameter 1m long

I will have aluminium o-ring sealed end caps with the valve side threaded to 1/2" BSP. This allows me to un-thread the cylinder and thread on a regular paintball tank.

The hammer valve itself is made from bright mild steel with a delrin seal. The outlet will be threaded for 1/4" BSP.

For the barrel i am using seamless stainless steel hydraulic tubing diameter 12mm with 2.5mm walls 1m long.

The hammer assembly will be similar to the evanix AR6 with the external manually cocked hammer.

Operating pressure will be 40 BAR air or bulk filled CO2 (I will also add a 1.5K burst disk for safetey)

What do you guys think? Anyone know a safe working pressure for the above chamber?

Dave

But it will be on hold because I managed to screw up the motor on my lathe by drilling the 18mm hole in the hammer valve. Its under waranty so it shouldnt take long fo me to be back up and running

Sounds good, what about the ammunition, and loading mechanism? Bolt action?

Thanks, ammunition will be home cast lead slugs and or ball bearings if I can find some suitable.

Loading mech will be the same design as "Old shatterhand" with the bolt in the tee.

I will also experiment with rifling my barrel with a reamer to see how it comes out

EDIT: change of plans, the breech will now be a cut out in the barrel and an o-ring sealed sliding sleve similar to the career big bore airguns
