NOOO!!!!!!!!!
Do NOT use galvanized in a KOH solution. The KOH will react with the zinc coating, creating hydrogen ( in a non-stoich. ratio) and exposing the normal steel.
Also, in chlorate cells (essentially the same thing, with more strict requirements and less current moving), a 5v computer PSU is often used. A cheap one I recently got rid of was rated for over 25 amps at 5v! Should you choose this option, you should use all the ground wires for your ground, and all the +5v wires for the +5. Don't try to dump 25 amps through a single wire, as the insulation will most likely burn off.

How Do I Make A Electrolysis Machine To Use For Welding
Actually, galvanized electrodes can be used.
When I used some, the zinc reacts off, but the remaining steel works fine. Potassium hydroxide also cleans the electrodes, oxidation won't be a problem, but the solution has to replaced every once in a while.
