It definitely looks good but lets see how it performs under high pressure conditions. Are you planning to use Locktight or something on the nuts when it's finished?
Another idea would be to squeeze a rubber gasket between two nuts and two washers, put the all thread into a drillig machine and grind the gasket down with a piece of sandpaper till it fits perfectly into the 1/2" nipples.
Overall it is a good idea to use a threaded piece of rod. The way I built my 3-way was a p.i.t.a.

or you can use a threaded rod to build a spool... you just need a few metal washers and some nuts... I've never tested thi but I guess it should work fine

If you want a smaller, sleeker one you know who to call
I like it..but it's a little big.

i whet to bunnings today and they don't have any orings the would fit, tomorrow ill try to squish a bit of rubber in between two nuts like MMR said.
i was gonna put epoxy in place of locktight because that stuff it a rip off at bunnings.
i would get you to machine a sleek one but i got a new job and they are teaching me how to use the lathe and mill, so hopefully they let me make some cool stuff. i only work on fridays its like work expenince but for a hole year aka vcal (victorian c.unts are lazy)
thanks for the kind words.
