Good idea, anything else I could do? I think I'm putting paint in it soon anyway but I might not... I don't know yet.

I am not sure about yours but all my fire extinguishers are aluminum so the whole paint thing is not that necessary.

It will corrode eventually but aluminum resists much better than steel because its oxidation is tough and stays on.

No, it doesn't "rust" (although, being pedantic, rust is specifically oxidised iron). The oxide coating that forms on aluminium is protective.

Basically the top few molecules oxidise (very fast, given aluminium's reactivity), but then that top layer prevents oxygen getting to the lower layers.
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?

So there is no need for that valve thing we were talking about or coating the inside with paint?

well it won't corrode but water will condensate inside the tank... if I were you I'd just mount it upside down

New epoxy is curing. I used two part syringe type, slobered it all over where the tiny leak was a stuck the vaccum onto one of the 1/4" ports. There was no noticeable amount of epoxy being sucked into the leak but who knows, maybe this will be the final time I need to try to seal it. How long should I wait to test it? The package says 5 minute but I don't know if that is cure time or whatever...

I thought you wanted to use it as an air reservoir and that it is much larger... you won't have any problems with it
