Hello all, i recome to show ou two videos of my 1" 1/2 qev launcher.
It's only work at 10bar, i've a fridge compressor but i don't know how cabler it. I give it to my electronic teacher, i'llcan receive it next week.

I notice that it didn't do "PAF" but "pwof", so now i use burst disk, and it's better of course Best sound !

its a nice one...looks clean and easy to make

i like the flash of vapour coming out the muzzle brake (holes at end)
it makes me feel all fuzzy inside when i see it


also muzzle brakes reduce recoil and projectile tumble
i spent about 4hrs debating the pro's/con's with a mate

Muzzle brakes reduce the recoil because gases are redirected back, toward the shooter, and apply force in opposition with recoil.

Here, there are just holes, so the recoil is not reduced, but the projectile tumble yes

No I think shoot 25mm marbles, i've got three, but i haven't target witch will no break, i want shoot in safety, for myself and others.

I recommend a thick layer of newspapers as a backstop. A thick enough layer will stop everything.
Be sure to pick a nice target!

No, the O-ring of the piston was taken off when i shooted yesterday.

So i will remplace the stainless by a plastic piston, lighter, and i'll put a seal of tap held in place by a screw.

Unfortunatly, it's not for now, ma father can't machine it some time before.

As soon as i have the piston, i make some shoots, some pics, some vidéos to you

Nylon and HDPE are tough and relatively flexible. PVC is somewhat brittle, but I didn't break it in my QDV.

Also take in account that a plastic piston will have less impact energy, thus less power to damage itself.

Still, I like plastic pistons more than metal ones, because of the easier machining.

Yes, i imagine what it give for you, i write with the little i learn me my teacher this year...
And at school, we learn stupid sentences in a stupid situations that never you will say or live in real life. While we should teach us things that will be useful if you go to States or England.

So... it will certainely be PA66 or PA6 plastic, a full cylinder, diameter 40mm and 60mm long.
I will put a seal at the back to cushion th shock and make sealing to reduce losses.

Machine plastic is easy, yes, but you can't be accurate, you can machine 1 or 2mm in only one time, but to remove 0.2mm it's difficult !
