That is a reasonable homemade pellet gun. I respect your construction efforts.

The only flaw I see is your calculation in the speed.

The kinetic energy for a .177 caliber 8 grain pellet at 300 fps is 1.60 ft-lbs.

This is what 10 pages corellates to.

To get 100 pages you would need 14.43 ft-lbs. This turns out to be 900 fps.

Just by tripling the 300 fps you will get the 100 page penetration.

The formula used is KE=1/2mv^2.

So please understand this formula to get the actual calculated speed.
