@wyz your gun alway very nice, but ,if you make them "beauty" as btb gun.they will be much much...much better

Joking
Actually I don´t like saw offs, I always loved rifles, well made long rifles.
But indeed, BTB it´s way better than me in rather mechanism or look.

Just retype it..

But that would mean you're even uglier than I am?!?!
:D

Anyway..Do whatever you feel like with it,
it has inspired me to do something completely different but only time will tell if it will ever live..

BTB, can you perhaps post a diagram of what you meant with the whole reversing the slide valve idea? If i'm understanding it right, are you saying you fill from the chamber? Just a little confused, and I'd like to figure it out as I may use it on my current gun, flipping the slide valve would make my trigger setup alot easier. thanks

I think hotwired originally came up with the idea and made a diagram, but I just cannot find it. I've tried it before with a QEV, but I didn't have a constant air source, so I just got progressively weaker shots

actually it was ragnarok... though I think that PVC_ARSENAL or btrettel built the first gun that operated on this principle

anyway it isn't really that important - the whole idea was like reinventing the wheel - DCVs have been used in PB gun design for years and QEVs are typically used with DCVs too

I really can't think of a way in which this 'idea' could be improved - it's as simple as it gets so essentially you've got to build on top of it and add features... which isn't necessarily a bad thing - have a look at al-xg's experiments with arduino

I was actually talking about the backwards slide valve concept, but it's nice to know who to accredit one of my favorite designs to

The idea Hotwired posted about was this one:

http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/copperh ... t9916.html

And that was operational on a cannon made 9 months earlier.

You're almost certainly thinking of something else since it was before you joined.

Sorry Hotwired I had completely missed your links.
It deserved more attention.

In a QEV gun it should look something like this.
(The valve does step 3 by itself, no action required..)

Ohhh I got it now. The red block right before the slide valve is where the air is inputted right? Makes sense, and seems very efficient. This could work pretty well with my piston valve gun in progress.

I think the red block is supposed to be the slide valve...
