Syringe Coax Design?

Cannons powered by pneumatic pressure (compressed gas) using a valve or other release.

Hey guys, I haven't been on here for a while! The other day I was designing a mini pneumatic around a syringe for a small size projectile like an airsoft or pellet.

How many PSI can you put in a standard syringe before it explodes?

I've attached a pic of my design drafted up in google docs.

Will it work? What are some ways to improve it?

Here's one I had made a long time ago, with the seal inverted and made into a toolies valve, not something you want to take beyond 50 psi though.

That looks awesome! I'll probably make one like that with one of my smaller syringes. What can I use to plug the end other than epoxy?

You can machine an acetal endcap, cut an o-ring groove then drill and tap some radial holes so you can attach it to the syringe tube with bolts.

... or you can use epoxy ;) let's face it, if you're using syringe tubes then your resources are limited, therefore epoxy is your best friend :)

That's true, but I am currently out of epoxy

My first pneumatics were made with balsawood endcaps held together with this stuff:
