The heavier the round, the more kick. If the round is too light it slows down fast after leaving the barrel. If it is too heavy it doesn't get up to speed for any distance. If you can get a heavier round up to speed it will maintain it's velocity longer due to inertia. 50 grams is no big deal but 150 starts to become noticeable in a handheld.
