it's a variant of quick dump valve (QDV). Technician1002 have posted cannons here using that type of valve.. if i remember it's hes design actually. It's a balanced valve that is actuated mechanically by pulling the piston with pull rod. After you pull the piston over the air inlets the air pressure kicks in and opens the valve very fast.
