How far can you fling a tater with a hand held cannon. That isn't a hybrid

Its all a matter of your definition of hand held.

A pneumatic cannon could theoritically fling a spud several miles. It's just impractical.

I'd guess 200 yards is quite likely with a fairly big 2" bore cannon with a powerful valve and enough pressure.
Novacastrian: How about use whatever the heck you can get your hands on?
frankrede: Well then I guess it won't matter when you decide to drink bleach because your out of kool-aid.
...I'm sorry, but that made my year.

Do you mean on you can just hold, or one that is self contained? (As in on board co2, etc.?)

When I think hand held it's really no longer than about 24"-36" and isn't very heavy, hand held should be comfortable to hold and small enough to be able to carry. My .5"x24" barrel, 2"x6" ball valve blows marbles over 250'.

Whoever cannot take care of themself without that law is both.
For a wounded man shall say to his assailant,
'If I live, I will kill you. If I die, You are forgiven.'
