Modding a valve with guiding rod

I bought a solenoid electric valve 1" with guiding rod. i'm planning on modding it with a blowgun wich one i already have. but i'd like you to confirm or tell me if i'm wrong:
_ i would fill the hole in the diaphragm with 65bar resistant glue, the same with solenoid hole, then remove the guiding rod, and pierce the upper part of the valve as showed on your "how to" section. then i'll follow the steps you explain...
Is it a correct way to do? or must i buy a new valve?

Just tap the hole to the side of the guide rod (it dosent need to be in the center). You do everything that you would on one without a guide rod except you put the hole for your tap in a different spot.

i modded a valve like that recently, except i just removed the guide rod completely and finished it like a valve without a guide rod. i don't know for sure if that has any negative effects but it seems to work just as well as my other valves, and its easier to find than valves without guide rods (at least where i live)

Did you fill the hole where the guide rod went? If you didnt did some air leak out the barrel? I belive that you did that but I thought once you removed that guide rod that air would leak around it Im interested.

i wasnt entirely sure if i did or not (i modded the valve a while ago) so i opened it up to look....i didnt have to seal the hole the guide rod went through because its the same whole that the back of the diaphragm is pressurized through, so sealing the guide rod hole on the diaphragm would render the entire valve useless. however, i did have to epoxy both holes that lead to the solenoid port, thats the only hole that leads to the barrel (while the valve is closed anyway)...hope that helps.

well you'll excuse me if I ask you to say it in a simpler english, cuz i'm french and 17, so even if i speak almost fluent, it's still hard for me to understand all the words related to valve parts!!! sorry for this!! however, why filling the rod hole through diaphragm with epoxy makes the valve useless?

because air pressure has to be on both sides of the valve. the valve opens by dropping the pressure on one side, the diaphragm then flexes to compensate for the pressure drop and the valve opens. if pressure cant get to both sides the diaphragm will just open as soon as pressure is put on it, so there is little or no controll over it. sorry, its hard to simplify the english, but from what i can tell you speak (write) it very well.
