is a stock ok?

i was thinking of putting a wood stock on my potato gun (it's pretty small, only about 2 feet long) and was wondering how bad the recoil is on the average mini combustion gun. would it damage my shoulder?

It shouldn't be a problem, but screwing the stock into the chamber or cap directly is a bad idea. Mount the gun to it with hose clamps.

It won't damage your sholder, and it shouldn't bruise your shoulder, unless you hold the stock off your shoulder when you shoot, because the maximum force is fairly low (150 lbs for a 2" barrel [combustion]). To prove that you won't damage your shoulder, "Just for fun":
Remington makes a 3 oz (nearly 90 grams) "magnum turkey load", and it shoots this at about 1500 feet/sec. A shoddy GGDT calculation indicates that the mass required to get this much recoil from your launcher, if it has a 8"*2" chamber and a 1.5"*16" barreled combustion, you'd need to fire 12 kilograms! Muzzle velocity is a trivial 12 feet/sec.

wait a sec, why would secrewing it in be bad? could it come of or something? in that case, couldn't i just seal it with superglue or something?

Everytime you drill a hole in PVC, it weakens the structural integrity of the pipe, and therefore gives a place where the pipe is more prone to burst. It's been done before, it's just not exactely safe.

also the recoil will make the holes larger, and allow gasses to escape, and after a while if the screws arent strong the heads may even come off
