blowgun pressure

I know that blowguns have a 90psi max rating but how high do you think you could go before its reallly unsafe? i want to have 150psi mabey attatched to it.

if all else fails are there any cheap blowguns that have higher pressure ratings?

usually, if you take off the nozzle, it should be safe at probably any pressure that your air compressor can reach

do you mean that little screw-in peice that goes on the end that seemingly has no purpose?

The nozzle has nothing to do with pressure, thats only so things dont get stuck in it and shoot out.

the nozzle on most blowguns is to keep the pressure outlet to 30psi max. the reason that the blowguns are only rated to 90 psi is because if something gets stuck in the nozzle, it may cause pressure to build thus causing the blowgun to explode. if you take it out, you should be safe.

Since when does the nozzle regulate pressure?
if anything it slow air flow.

Well the blowgun is thick steel, at the worst it will stop working, I doubt it would explode.

Yeah if its going to blow up it will only be on the inside it will just start leaking...then it will leak furosly(sp?) and then it will either open or f*ck up

If im not mistaken someone in these forums took one to a real high pressure,300 psi or someting.

someone made a ghetto ass gun off a 3000 psi PB tank. Whether it was full or not... still scary.

And YES, you can put air through most in reverse.

if you put 150psi in a blowgun it will mess up the parts inside of it

What parts inside of it? A silly little valve?!
One of my (lousy) blowguns has a gauge that goes to 120 PSI. It leaks like hell around 70 PSI anyway. After all, they have metal bodies, 1mm thick at the thinnest points. Why would they blow up at these relatively low pressures?
