leaking blowgun

i just finished my new air rifle and it has been working like a dream untill i painted it today and put the gun back together and suddenly my blowgun leaks


it loses about 45 psi over a period of about 17 min

can anybody plz help me

Oh those bloody guns.

Theres two people on UKSGC that have used either the same or very similar pistol type blowgun and they leak. Its a design thing and they can't be used way over their intended pressure like other blowgun types.

It leaks both ways round I'm told.

I might be wrong and better quality pistol blowguns might work above their rated pressure without leaking.

Dang its pretty cool looking, but as to your leaking problem I don't know, take it back and buy another one?

Do you know where it's leaking? Try to find out. If it's from the threads, you may need to put some fresh teflon tape on it. The tape tends to wear out of it is unscrewed and put together.

I use the same blow gun on my cloud, but since its a cloud it wouldn't leak as its easier for the air to go out the barrel.

Open it up and take a look at the seal in it. Sometimes fragments of Teflon tape get blown back and caught in the seal.

Open it up and see if theres anything wrong. I had the 'normal' type of blowgun, but it only let a tiny trickle of air through, so I opened it up but could't find anything wrong with it. So I put it back together and it works???? I think a seal was stuck or somthing.

Just pull the gun apart and clean each part.

i know it leaks out the valve inside and i cant pull it apart

i think il flush it out and make sure the seal isn't stuck

Does the valve not just unscrew? I'm sure they all do. There should just be a nut holding the valve in behind the trigger. Looks like it from the picture anyway.

oh now i understand what u are saying but i first havto get the trigger plate bit off
