Under Barrel Shotgun

I am in the process of finishing my primary pneumatic rifle. Underneath the gun i have an ideal place to put a short shotgun. All I plan to to is use a simple ball valve setup with 3/4" pvc as the tank, 1/2" as the barrel and load with shot. My main rifle uses a piston valve and I love it.. but its simply too big to try to replicate on a the shotgun. Is there any other type of valve with higher flow I would use in place of the ball valve? A solenoid is also too big for what i have room for. Any suggestions wlecomed.

Theres not much to choose from really.

If you're after a valve thats smaller than a piston valve on a rifle design you're looking at diaphragm valves.

You could try to use a 1/2" QEV but its pretty much the same size and shape as a piston valve of the same porting.

Welcome to the forums.

My only ideas would be a pneumatically modified 3/4" sprinkler, or a 3/4" QEV (this would be best and have the best performance of your available options).

I'd also suggest connecting the "shotgun" pressure chamber to the main gun's pressure chamber via air compressor hose and a ball valve. This way you can pressurize them both at the same time via one quickconnect/schrader, and then close the ball valve to separate the chambers.

dang, that small, what caliber’s your main barrel? You may want to go coaxial.

Yeah, I'd say a small coaxial. Even a 2" coupler as a chamber with a diaphragm valve is enough to shoot a load of BBs 80 ft.
