ive been using hot glue plug as a piston and it seals great with a 1/4" ball valve as the pilot but because i usualy open the valve up fully and pretty fast (not purposly) when filling the chamber the barrel (1/2" copper) has starded diging into the got glue (from slaming up againt and makes in kind of stick when i pilot the valve.
i have some neoprene but i was wanting somthing a little harder, i want to use like the rubber on car hoses or simmilar. the reason i made this post is coz i just wanted to know what other people use other than neoprene.
cheers

This may sound kinda useless, but try a few layers of that craft foam stuff you can buy at miachels. just be sure to glue it on!!! the stuff will pop at like 20 PSI unless its sealed perfectly. if you want better, try the sillicone from those baking mats. just glue that down too, it will pop.......

Gasket material works well. I can get it the home-chepot (tyin’ somethin’ new, instead of home depot, or home cheapo I’ll call it home chepot.), one of the few useful things you can get there.
