Borrowed a chronograph and shot a few times 584 fps and 587 fps.
Kept the muzzle 10 ' back , like the owner told me.
I have no idea what these numbers mean.
Could some one please tell me the mph.
Thanks

I think that 66 mph is 88 fps, but im not sure. if that is true then your speed is about 437 mph.

note- i think means im not 100% sure, although it sounds about right.

Not that feet per second really needs to be converted, but 587 fps equates to approximately 400 mph...

The calculation I used:

1 mile per minute = 60mph

(fps / (5280 feet in a mile / 60 seconds)) * 60 mph

So:

(587 / (5280 / 60)) * 60 = 400.27

Or:

((587 fps * 3600 seconds in an hour) / 5280 feet in a mile = 400.27 mph

Any way you slice it...

Hey thanks!!

Your right it does not need to be converted .Fps is a standard for
guns that use powder.
Are these speeds average for combustion?

uhh, yes, about for a ,smallish-mediumish sized one. my cousin has a chronograph and his propane cannon with a BBQ ignitor shoots at almost 700 fps.

if this is your competition gun then you have the mix wrong and arent getting what you should. probably a little too much, try running the fan a little longer. you did a really good job on it by the way.

HI Thanks for the tips. I just borrowed the crony 2 hrs ago. Ran home from work and poped off a few . Never realy did the figuring on the gas. Just diddled around. Regulators are a pain , It goes up and down 4-5 lbs. It is a gas regulater but pretty cheep 26$ should a spent more. Will try a few more tomorrow

That is a very cool looking gun. Is the bolt action independant of the cam locks?
