Marble rifle

this is my marble rifle. it is getting painted soon. i will have details tomorrow. too tired right now. it is made from a 22 gun stock




sorry if it is ugly, but this is more or less my spare parts cannon. the chamber it a piece of pipe that use to be a role bare on a tractor, with two circles welded on the end, it has a 3/4 inch ball valve, yes i know it is slow opening but one again, spare parts cannon, i might put a better valve on it in the future. the barrel it 3/4 inch water pipe that came from our well that we fixed a couple years ago, it is 3 1/2 feet long, and the loading system it suppose to make it semi auto, but i have not got that to work yet, the first picture is a marble shot at about 50 psi at a kitty litter box

The gun looks good itself, but maybe the barrel looks like it's sticking a little too far from the end of the gun (in my opinion - purely aesthetics).

Also, it looks like you're using a ball valve to fire the gun (just making sure). From what I've read, ball valves seem to be slow to open.

Does it have a rifled barrel?
If not, then its not a rifle, so please dont call it that, its a smoothbore cannon.

i dont like theidea of the chamber being right there in your face but its still good.As ong as it performs well look isn't the main thing.

Edit- if you had the valve handle and the mag facing sideways it would be cool.

nice gun, it could be a bit cleaner, once you paint it will look much better, kinda looks like my gun in a way, same basic idea to. whats that thing sticking out in front of the ballvalve ment to do.....or was it just a part of the fitting that just happened to be there. again good job

Pretty...messy. But still good. It will look a lot better after a paint job. Also, I would try to secure it with something other than zipties. I think it would look a lot better with some hose clamps (the metal things)

Jeebus, not one compliment... quit fretting. The barrels plenty long to help make up for some of the slowness of the ball valve a little.

Argh come on, we have had this discussion before, and it really doesn't matter... it looks like a rifle, so super spudder can call it a rifle.

Nice gun... a paintjob would help to clean it up a bit. You might also want to consider going for a sprinkler valve with a blowgun trigger to make the gun easier to aim, easier to fire, and have better performance.

it does not have a rifled barrel on it, i called it a rifle because it is built around a 22 "rifle"

i know they suck, but i can take it out and put in a QEV latter if i want

Sometimes it's more about the fun of building and playing than it is about looks and ultimate performance... Nice gun... Reminds me of my youth when I would build any of a number of motorized contraptions over the course of a weekend or two... I'd build like crazy until they'd go fast but would never finish them by making them look pretty or have brakes...

Hey Spuder, I reckon you did alright if you made it out of spare parts; gee I'd be pretty happy if I could get something together, just out of stuff I've got lying around! hey, at least it works, that's the main thing!

yea, about the rifle stock. i feel kinda bad, cause i took apart antique 22 to get the stock, but the gun did not work anyways
