Calibrating My Laser Sight

Hey
I found my laser pointer and everything and i connected it up to external battery and switch. I was wondering how i could centre and calibrate my laser sight, any ideas anyone?

attach it to ur barrel, n look threw the barrel n wen u c the laser site it is centerd and glue it to that position

The barrel is atached to the gun, and is there an easier way, that can also be change for some reason

hose clamps to attach it, or similar.

secure your gun to a ladder or something stable that wont move, do say 5 shots at a target and put the dot on the average "hit" spot (im thinking of a word that would make it sound like im making sense)

good luck, and make sure you use the same pressures when you are sighting it in

We usually refer to it as POI or "point of impact"

You're not going to find it easy with a laser pointer, why not spend a bit more and buy a proper adjustable sight?

Something like this BSA unit, fully adjustable for windage and elevation, sights included and for less than $35

Thanks for that JSR, i am overwhelmed by your knowledge by the way, and yer mate the accuracy will be out no matter wat ya do with a laser, maybe get a dot scope im using one and i can continuesly hit targets at 30m.

perhaps also make a knock up bipod, similar things like that tend to help me steady for long range shots.

It was just a laser light i found around my house. I was thinking of getting a laser sight with a gun mount of ebay or a dot scope. I am also thinking of getting one for when i get my gun, an air rifle or a .22 probably.

yea im mounting a laser on my compustion in the next day or two, done a complete overhaul on this gun. but im putting a 50mW laser on it, so it shall shine for MILES. and im to broke to go out and spend more money on a laser just for guns. when i already burnt a hole in my pocket with this one. let me know how it works for u marco which ever idea u do

To sight in my laser I used a flash light.
I have a Mag light takes the C bat.
I wraped masking tape around the Mag untill it was snug fitting in the barrel.
Wrap the tape in 2 places to keep it centered in barrel.
Adjust the beam light to fine point, then I adjusted the laser dot to the center of the flash light beam.
Then I shot at a target. I had to adjust the laser a little but the first setting was very close.
The laser I bought was about $30, but there was a few for around $20 or less.
It came with mounting plate that I epoxied to barrel.
Adjustments are elevation and windage, up and down and side to side.
When I epoxied the plate to barrel I used a larger square cut piece of pipe over the barrel to have a perpendicular line to work off.

My dad sugested using 2 plumbing lines, one on the front of the laser and one on the back, and i must have a loose but firm way to tie the laser onto the barrel, so the use of the plumbing lines straighten the laser. I then use some glue. I haven't tested it yet. But im also gonna try use 2 hose ties and see how they go, they should make the laser quite straight, ill also use Sjog's method to align it.
