Pipe types: pvc and fitting problems

Hello everyone, I have a problem with fittings for a pvc pipe. I'm using pvc 4" sewer pipe (not sure if its safe and it doesn't fit) and it won't fit a 4" to 2" reducer or a 4" female adapter, do I need a fitting to make it fit or do I need different a pipe?

if its not even safe are you nuts don't use that garbage, throw it out and don't be a cheapo and go buy a pipe that fits properly.

you just need a coupler. if its combustion its fine, pneumatic its not safe.

So sewer pipe is ok for combustion? Its solid core by the way.

yes its fine, i use it all the time for combustions. im assuming this is ABS pipe correct?

No, its pvc which I stated in the original post.

Is it that green PVC? I really wouldn't use it; it usually has very thin walls (unless it is large diameter, where it then can be used for big combustions).

Its regular white colored pvc, it does seem thin though. What should I use instead?

Are you metric or linear?

im taking you use linear from your original post, look for pipe that is marked with 'sch-40' or a higher sch. e.g sch-80.
Now thats only the thickness of the pipe, have a look to see if it is pressure rated by looking for 'nsf-pw' now if it has that the pipe should have a pressure rating e.g 260psi.

Thats the pipe you want, most likely your mixing dwv/down pipe with pressure rated fittings.

I have never seen solid wall pvc in 4" that isn't pressure rated

question: i have pipe labeled NSF-DWV but it also gas a presure rating on it, is that still safe to use?
