Cannons powered by pneumatic pressure (compressed gas) using a valve or other release.

ive got a piece of metal pipe laying around 25mmx250mm would this be sufficient for a sniper chamber or would it lose alot of power. im after something that takes minimal to pump up to high pressures and is able to shoot a marble at around 700ft/Per sec.

that would suffice i would say, although it still all comes down to the pressures you are using it at.

and what kind of metal pipe, is it even rated?

300psi should be ok in steel. With a 1.5 metre barrel and a piston valve you'll easy get 700fps.

What valve did you plan on using.

nice thats good then the chamber will be longer when i weld the other section of pipe on up to the piston. also will a MIG weld be capable of holding pressure up to 300psi because i am going to weld everything together instead of buying all the fittings.

from what i'm reading i would probably agree with Crowley that the steel would be able to hold 300 psi, do what he said and use build a piston valve and just out of curiosity are you using an air compressor or a pump.

cheers

at that size it should be a reasonable chore to take it to 300 psi with a shock pump, and with a decent barrel length and valve your velocity target for a marble would be realistic.
