I used an old cerca 1970 laser. Removed the laser tube, stuck in a barrel and chamber and had fun! In a certian conext I made a laser cannon! Video will follow shortly.

it was a one milliwatt laser. The same power as a hand held laser pointer.
Iv'e made a 1000 watt laser system. The only thing I haven't actually made was the laser tube for it.

i like it a lot after seeing the video!

I was going to get a neon transformer soon as ignition for a mini as per another thread. This looks like it works really well.

An NST is a bit overkil for a gap for a mini. I would personally use an ignition coil from a car, $30, and attach to an AC circuit. If your interested i could post the ciruit here.

There are two different ways to get an ignition coil to work. One way is through a 12v DC circuit and another is a 120v AC circuit. You're choice.
