can someone PLEASE tell me if i can actually make a piston out of copper pipe, sealing face, hotglue, bolt, nut, washers and scradjler valve...sorry about that valve word i just dont know how to spell it.
but uhh...now heres the thing....SHOULD i put a 1" T on the back part of the piston so i have a place to fill the air behind the piston up and the other end leading to a blowgun vavle. and if i do use the valve from a bike tire what do i use to properlly keep it in place...what should i do?

Yes you can. Anything else I can help you with?bikingpro911 wrote:can someone PLEASE tell me if i can actually make a piston out of copper pipe, sealing face, hotglue, bolt, nut, washers and scradjler valve...
What happened to:
Why the hell would someone email you to learn about pistons, when you don't even have a clue what you are doing?email me at car-crazy-john@hotmail.com to learn how to make a piston
If you want to. You really have no clue what you are doing. It all depends on your design, if you're making a small cannon, that's a lot of pilot volume you could do without.SHOULD i put a 1" T on the back part of the piston so i have a place to fill the air behind the piston up and the other end leading to a blowgun vavle. and if i do use the valve from a bike tire what do i use to properlly keep it in place...what should i do
Umm...use a threaded schrader?
You REALLY have absolutely no idea what you are doing. Come back on Monday when you've done some proper research.
I could name a few things, but it would be messy and involves a shotgun....what should i do
Sidenote: Posting EVERY other WORD in CAPITAL letters is AGAINST the RULES. I linked you THE rules in my PM to YOU. so PLEASE read THEM and try to REFRAIN from BREAKING them. THANK you.

Probably…MrCrowley wrote:Damn why didn't I think of that? Should've written my whole post in capitals and cool blue links, he would've liked thatjudgment_arms wrote:Click HERE
I’m about ready to write up a generic list of useful links to use to answer all these danged greenhorns that we keep getting lately...
The flow of greenhorns probably has got something to do with summer comin’ up fast…
Have a bit of a look around the pneu showcase mate. Get a bit more familiar with the different configerations and constuction materials that people use depending on the size bore of the piston gun you're building. That's what I did after first learning about exactly how piston guns work.
First things first... What do ya wanna shoot out of this thing? What's the bore?
Cheers mate,
Mitch.

i am going to place a barrel the diameter of a marbble inside if a 1" pipe then make it perfectly center by drilling holes into the side of the barrel onto the pipe the fill it up with expanding foam
but thanks for the advice

So then you want 1/2'' pressure pipe as the barrel. I don't know if the dimentions are the same as over seas but in Aus, the ID of 1/2'' pressure pipe is very good for 16mm marbles.
Why sleeve the barrel into 1'' pipe and use expanding foam? It's easiler to just get a 1'' Tee with a few reducing bushes, and bingo, you have a barrel sealing Tee Valve
Draw up a plan on pain exactly what you've got in your head and I'll see what I can do to make it easy, practical and safe.
Cheers,
Mitch.

Yep now I gotcha. I wasn't sure on the style of piston gun you had planned. The only thing you've got to worry about is the pilot size behind the piston and what you use to actuate it. If you're planning to use a sprinker valve, then you might have some luck.
