What is going on?, because within the past few days there hasnt been much posts. Is it just too hot to make a new gun? I was just curious, since we havent been very active.

Well the Uksgc actually just faded away. People traffic went to 0.
I'm guessing less people care for spudding nowadays.

Maybe everyone is outside making guns instead of inside posting on Spudfiles...

I agree, crowley. I have two projects I'm working on myself. Unfortunately, I have to wait until I get more fittings before I can do anything at all. No, really. I'm plum outta fittings.

I'm not a huge fan of speculation, and my first paycheque doesn't arrive until next Friday. I reply to a topic every once in a while, but I'd rather be posting my own creations than looking at the same old gun that's been built 12000 times before, but with a few aesthetic tweaks, which, in the eyes of some people here, make it the best thing since TNT. speaking of TNT...

I hope some people have interesting new things coming, because there hasn't been anything really innovative and impressive posted in months. The innovations are what keeps the forum alive. Not hypothetical designs that could be built and might work, but tangible things. Things that go BOOM, emit a menacing plume of smoke, and scare the crap out of the neighbours.

Personally, I'm not very active here because I have very little money, even less time, and a hell of a lot of equally important things on which to spend both.

Well, I may be close to solving your problem, sir. The moment I get fittings, I'm going to construct my Airburst test rig.

Remember things are a lot different when you don't have vast open spaces and the cheapest spudding material being metal.

If you lived in a suburb in America where PVC is incredibly cheap, you wouldn't be building 20x hybrids either. As much as I would love to build a huge ass hybrid or pneumatic, my location puts it all to rest.

So why haven't I built anything innovative? Because I want power over function mainly. But now that I have several cannons that keep me happy, I can start making more innovative cannons without fear of wasting loads of money for something that may or may not work according to plan.

Just remember, not everyone in the forum is in your position, we can't all do what you do.

he made a ABS barrel that holds up on 20x.. why not a PVC chamber that does the same thing?

An ABS barrel, not chamber.

ABS also has far better failure characteristics then PVC such as splitting instead of fragmenting.

ABS can handle shock a lot better then PVC can.

ABS isn't as prone to temperature, whether it be in the negatives or hundreds of degrees.

As for the main reason why I said no one would build a 20x hybrid in a suburb, because you are in a SUBURB. People have houses just a few yards away. Most likely those people are not the type that enjoy loud explosions and super-sonic projectiles just a few yards from their house. I'd imagine a 20x mix would sound very similar to a bomb.

You'd have cops around in a matter of minutes, your cannon would be confiscated and you would probably spend the night in jail followed by a possible prison term and/or expensive fine.

I'm not sure about you but I have respect for other people and my wellbeing. I don't feel like being imprisoned or blown to bits.

hey i meant it is possible. the pvc would just be there as a permanent mold, and i am agree with that you say about the people that don't want a 20x hybrid waiting to be confiscated.

i PM you a question on that..

It's been busy busy around here, just not as much time to hang out online. I'll have some modest but cool innovations to showcase with my noise cannons within the next few days. I used them at a block party for the first time earlier tonight...they worked beautifully!

I just need to get some decent pictures and work up a write up.
