My first launchers

This isn't really a spud gun,but it did get me into the shooting-stuff hobby.

winter 2006. I hollowed out a push pop and stuck a fairly powerful spring from a shock absorber in a heavy RC truck.put a small nail through the top so that the clip-thing from the cover rested on it.A gentle push on the clip released the cover's "safety" and shot it 20 feet.

Tools: 2$ pocket knife
materials:push pop,small wide head nail,spring

all my other projects I never finished due to lack of tools,lack of materials,or the project being massive overly ambitious.Now that I posted this I at least feel like I contributed. sorta

If this is your most accomplished project to date, then I would do as starman suggested in the other thread and build yourself a traditional little combustion launcher - cheap, simple and if built reasonably big, powerful enough to leave a lasting impression that will inspire you for future projects

One has to appreciate that it's not only a question of learning what design works best, but also adapting theoretical launchers to the materials and tools which you have to hand, as well as gaining experience with new techniques.

If you're into airsoft and own a compressor, I would suggest making a simple bbmg using a vortex cap (not block, caps are much easier to make). They typically fire between 80 & 140 rounds per second. PM me if you're interested.

A cloud BBMG would certainly be an easy first project, however without a compressor it might be a bit limited.

Still, I used this monstrosity with only a footpump and it's great fun

Right now I'm kinda...poor.I'm working on a monstrosity from whatever I can find around teh house.So far it's comprised of an airsoft pistol barrel,a wooden clothespin,crazy huge plastic clothespin,wood,and duct tape. I'll let ya know how that turns out.
