HDPE works fine. Here is an inch and a half piston made for my Mouse Musket, a coax with a 2 inch chamber and 1 inch barrel. It wouldn't take much to adapt this to other sizes. My barrel has an o ring seat, so the piston does not need a rubber face. I made it that way to make the piston lighter.

How did you make the wood one?
HDPE can most often use the same tools.

HDPE often comes disguised as a cutting board. :D

Sheet of HDPE 7/8ths inch thick. The old original PVC pipe cap piston is sitting on it.

Give me $2 for shipping and i'll mail you a small piece of either 1" or 2" HDPE. I bought the wrong size, so I'm not using them.
