i stumbled across some 4inch piping that says "dwv" and also "at 220 psi"
just curious if this was okay to use or not. i was just confused by the two different labels on it. sch 40 if that matters

As long as "NSF-pw" and a pressure rating are printed onto the side of the pipe, it should be acceptable for use with spudguns. I'm pretty sure pressure rated pipe may still say DWV on it even though it is pressure rated.
This results from mass use of the term DWV for meaning "Unrated", something I don't condone.
What DWV actually means is "Suitable for Drainage, Waste and Venting" - none of which are pressure applications.
As such, almost all PVC pipe could count as DWV - you'd be hard pressed to find a pipe that couldn't cope with the demands involved. Pressure pipe is certainly capable of coping.
As such, DWV is not a good thing to use as an indicator. Use the presence or absence of a pressure rating as your guidance, not anything to do with DWV markings or SCH dimensions.
