Can You Solder Different Metals?

Because potatoes only last one shot!

Can you solder metal other than copper? If so what metals can you solder, and is the connection as strong as with copper?

Yes, except for aluminum, I think. Just use silver solder and flux. I know anyone can do steel, copper, brass to each other. There are kits for aluminum but I have not tried them myself.
