How to build a 2 inch barrel sealing piston valve?

Cannons powered by pneumatic pressure (compressed gas) using a valve or other release.

Hello,
my next build will be based around a 2 inch tee barrel sealing piston valve. I will be using a 2.5 inch chamber and a 1.5 inch barrel (about 5 feet long). What parts do I need to build this and how do I build it? Is there a tutorial somewhere? This will be a big improvement to my sprinkler valve!
Thanks

The Wiki has a section on Piston valves. You may wish to study the different ratios so you can get both performance and reliability. Higher performance pistons tend to be temperamental and difficult to get to work correctly.

Thanks guys so much! I feel very confident I can build this now! How big of an improvement will I see over just a 1" sprinkler valve?

Alot of improvement. Anywhere from 2x to 5x most likely... Instead of a "sha-woomp" you'll get more of a "POW"...
Life's too short to mark off the items on your wish list...

For comparison, how well does a 1 inch sprinkler valve hold up to a 2 inch piston? Here is the launch of a full soda can. A 1 inch sprinkler valve may get it out of the muzzle but would not have nearly the energy of this launch. I agree that it does go pow with the larger valve. :D

This is a 3 gallon chamber and a 2 inch valve.

A 2 inch piston valve is in a different class than a 1 inch sprinkler valve.

I don't think I could have made this hole in a carpet with a T Shirt using a 1 inch sprinkler valve.
