Right now im in the middle (it should be the end) of making my first piston valve cannon. Unfortunately there was a leak in the glue because i used it too soon after glueing so now i need to take the barrel out and glue it back in. I prey that it will work after. im not sure if the piston seals properly yet eather.

If i get it working i will have some pics up and some damage pics as well. maybe even a video.

It didn't work. whats a waste of 50 bucks. the piston wouldn't come back when i released the air. and it leaks after 40 psi.

Next i will make a smaller, cheaper one so its not such a waste of meney when it fails.

The fact that you pressurized it before waiting for the glue to fully cure would make me sh|t scared using the cannon. After how long did you pressurize the cannon and to what pressure?

It could just be that you don't know how to use primer and glue properly and you forgot the 1/4 turn twist required when gluing PVC fittings and pipe together.

It was about 12 hours after glueing and only about 30psi.

hmm.... my can of pvc glue says to wait 45 minuets before applying any sort of pressure, and 1 hour before taking to 250psi, and 4 hours for full cure..

So if you waited twelve.... u did something wrong.

You obviously have a different type of glue as most people say they need a full 24 hours to cure properly.

It won't do you any harm in waiting 24 hours for your glue to dry.

Your life isn't dependant on firing your cannon straight away.

Firing it straight away might make your life dependant on a machine though.

And you could stuff up your cannon by doing that.

Patience can be helpful at times.

Then why did you wait 12?

Did you at least use primer? If it were me, I'd scrap the gun. Well frankly, I wouldn't have too since I can follow instructions, but if some random person came and pressurized my half-drying cannon, I'd scrap it.
I think it is too hard to tell how much 'damage' it could've done and the fact that you already have leaking doesn't help.
